This is one of the most challenging pieces of communication that I have had to deliver in my life and I hope you know that I have you in my heart while you read this message. One of our values at the studio is integrity: doing what is right even when it is difficult and therefore I am sharing this information with you. There are 8 limbs of yoga, the first is Yama, which includes truth telling. The following speaks to my truth regarding vaccine passports. It will be YOUR choice whether you show documentation or not. We will not ask for it upon entry.

As you may have heard the vaccine passport requirement for certain industries comes into effect on September 22nd, 2021. The direction is to require patrons of gyms to present proof of vaccination (2 doses of Covid-19 Vaccine + 14 days) to participate in our classes. If this is you, and you would like to share your documentation with us then please email us a copy of your reciept.

You can access your 2nd dose vaccine receipt from here

Once we receive your proof of vaccination we will update your profile in our system so that you will only have to do this one time.

For those with exemptions, please email your doctor's note, along with Photo ID.  As per government guidelines we will not be required to review this document. A valid list of exemptions can be found here

At Midtown Yoga Kitchener Waterloo (MYKW) we offer a preventative form of healthcare. Some individuals use our services as treatment for their mental, physical, spiritual and emotional well-being. Therefore we will continue to advocate at a government level to make these wellness services essential.

One of our values at MYKW is inclusivity. This means that in good faith I will not discriminate against anyone for any reason. Therefore, you may be practicing with someone who is unvaccinated. I understand that this may be uncomfortable for you, and you may not want to practice at MYKW right now. If you need to cancel your membership, we will process it immediately with no further charges. If you have an annual membership or a class card and would like to put your membership on hold I will extend your expiry date accordingly.

During the pandemic, the whole team MYKW has done everything in our power to keep you safe while you are in our space. We believe that we have gone above and beyond following the government's direction. We will continue to do our best to ensure these high levels of standards. We have facilitated almost 2,000 classes since July 20th, 2020 with over 20,000 people through our hot room doors. We have had no outbreaks here. To me this shows that what we are doing and what we will continue to do assists in stopping the spread.

If you have any questions at all please reach out. I understand that this can be a senstive topic, however my doors are open to discuss your concerns.

With integrity,
Rebecca Rose
