Welcome to Midtown Yoga Kitchener Waterloo!
(an exert from previous owner 2008-2018 David Tiviluk)

Why Midtown Yoga Kitchener Waterloo? Don't worry: it's hot! The yoga that is, but we also have warm Yin, Power Flow and Gentle Flow classes. (Do you really want to do cold yoga?)

The name Midtown Yoga KW reflects our physical location at almost the precise dividing point between Kitchener and Waterloo, nestled in the quaint and thriving Belmont Village, not far from Union Street. We love it here.

But more than that I was looking for a name that was hip and modern, as well as unpretentious and welcoming to all and reflected the Kitchener Waterloo of 2017 as well as my own urban and artistic interests as well as my love of yoga, meditation, and spirituality...and that sounded fun and light. (After trying to decide on a name for some time--ranging from the esoteric to the mundane--I give thanks to instructor Jeff Clarke for suggesting the name Midtown Yoga.)

This is why artist and yoga teacher Carina Francioso--carinafrancioso.com--is giving a workshop "Manifest Your Dream Life: Create your own Dream Painting through a Fluid Practice" on January 22nd from 1:30-4:30 that incorporates both yoga and completing an actual painting on canvas, no painting experience necessary.

And this is also why Bhante Saranapala, "The Urban Buddhist Monk"--www.urbanbuddhistmonk.com--will be coming up from his temple in Mississauga to give what is going to be an enlightening talk entitled "The End of Suffering" on Saturday, February 4th between 2 and 4pm. The talk will be followed by Q and A and a guided meditation. Shoot, maybe we'll share shots of wheatgrass juice with him at our Buddha Bar!
And this why I chose to engage a professional model, photographer, makeup artist and hairstylist in a professional studio in Toronto to create the striking image you see on our home page.

And most importantly, this is why my eye has been, is and will be on curating the best possible yoga practices with the best possible yoga teachers in the best possible facility to give you a great experience every time you visit the studio as best as we can at Midtown Yoga Kitchener Waterloo.

A note on the logo: I entered a creative brief into a crowd sourcing website and thus began an international design competition that had submissions from all over the world--India and Asia, Europe and North and South America. 54 designs were submitted and the winning designer was from the Philippines. With great intuition he captured the essence of what I wanted the logo to portray.

Do those buildings look familiar--lots of local development going on? Kitchener Waterloo is going up! Perhaps the swath of gold under the seated yogi is ION--the light rail transit system? Or maybe it represents that individual seated atop their own golden abundance? Regardless the figure can't be discerned as male or female and they have found their calm amidst the bustle of modern life--the buildings in the background.

And this is what we do at Midtown Yoga KW: provide a sanctuary where you can de-stress and take care of your fitness, your health and wellness, and find calm amidst the busy-ness of contemporary living. We look forward to seeing and serving you soon, and thanks for reading.

Peace and Blessings,
