Studio Etiquette That Supports Every Practice

At our studio, every class is more than just movement, it’s an experience. It’s a shared space where people come to reset, reconnect, and take care of themselves. Creating that environment takes all of us. A few simple etiquette practices go a long way in protecting the energy of the room, supporting your teachers, and enhancing the experience for everyone around you.

Here are the most important things to keep in mind when you walk through our doors:

1. Arrive Early, Settle In

Arriving 5–10 minutes before class allows you to:

  • Set up your space
  • Get grounded
  • Transition out of your day and into your practice

Rushing in at the last minute disrupts both your experience and the flow of the room.

2. Protect the Space: No Phones in the Hot Room

The hot room is a space to disconnect from the outside world and reconnect with yourself.

Cell phones are not permitted in the hot room at all. Not for texts, not for checking the time, not for anything. Even the smallest distraction can pull you, and others, out of the experience.

In shared spaces like bathrooms and change rooms, we ask that phone use is kept to a minimum, and video calls are absolutely not allowed. These are private, shared environments, and it’s important everyone feels comfortable and respected.

3. Respect the Energy Before Class

The energy you bring into the room matters.

  • Pilates classes: Before class begins, feel free to chat, connect, and hype each other up. We love that energy and sense of community. But once class starts, no talking. It becomes distracting for your teacher and those around you trying to focus.
  • Yoga classes: We ask for no talking at all before class begins. Many students come in early to ground themselves, breathe, and mentally prepare. Silence helps create that calm, intentional environment.

4. Be Mindful of Equipment

Please only take what you need for the class you’re attending.

If it’s a non-weighted class, there’s no need to grab weights “just in case.” Keeping the space clear and intentional helps maintain the flow and safety of the class.

5. Safety First, Especially with Weights

In weighted classes, this is especially important.

Do not put your weights away before class is finished.

At the end of class, many people are lying down, stretching, or in their final rest. Walking around the room with weights during this time is not only disruptive, it’s a safety risk.

Your teacher will always guide you on when it’s time to put equipment away. Please wait for that cue.

6. Stay Until the End, It Matters

Your teacher will always leave time at the end of class to properly close the experience. This is an important part of your practice, where your body absorbs the work, your mind settles, and everything integrates.

Please:

  • Do not pack up early
  • Do not leave before you’re guided to do so

When we commit to a class, we commit to the full experience, not just the movement portion.

Why This All Matters

These guidelines aren’t about rules for the sake of rules, they’re about respect.

Respect for:

  • The shared space
  • The people around you
  • Your teacher’s guidance
  • And most importantly, your own experience

When everyone follows the same rhythm, something really special happens. The room settles. The energy aligns. And the practice becomes deeper, more focused, and more powerful for everyone.

Thank you for being part of this community and helping us create a space that feels grounding, safe, and supportive, every single class.
